Let’s Make a Promise

By Cooper Layne Ellis and Georgia Stanley

The love and gratitude I feel for them stops me from tearing my own world apart. Even in my darkest moments, they manage to be there before a blink or a heartbeat Something more powerful than a light at the end of a tunnel." (The Power Of Connection) Through exploring different types of relationships between women, we hoped to create a piece that showcases the different complexities, bonds, and support women have for each other. Let's make a promise to be there for each other, whatever that may look like to you.

Suburban Strings

By Mae Operario and Hannah May

Suburban Strings is a project that encapsulates the feelings of growth, ostracism, and coming of age. Or as we like to call it–feeling “stuck in the suburbs”. This is told through mixed media journal entries, a story of two girls, one who's time in her town is running short, and one who feels that every day is the same. While also showcasing thoughts and feelings from others of what it’s like to live in such a small town. With our project, we want people to know that no matter where you may be, you are seen, and that one day, you will find the other end of your string. Please enjoy!

Hannah May

Hi, I'm Hannah, a high school student based in Knoxville, Tennessee! I love photography and visual art, and am hoping to get into film! I love creating art centered about themes about Jewish and queer identity, especially in the suburbs of the South!

Mae Operario

Time is Only a Feeling

By Francene Olegario & Ava Pom

What does a calendar look like when reconsidered through the lens of our emotions?” For our project, we deconstructed the typical calendar format, emphasizing image over function by illustrating the feelings we’ve experienced as time passes us by. Whether we have felt the constraints of time or allowed it to run its course is reflected in our pieces. Now the numbers that we scratch out become simple accents to the emotions we experience day-to-day. By having this AR calendar of ours to hang on your wall, we hope you can relate with us in that time is only a feeling.

Ava Pom

Ava Pom is an illustrator, zine-maker, and Risograph lover. She combines bright colors and bold graphics to create expressive characters and narratives in her digital work. Ava often explores zine-making and Riso publishing as an avenue for bringing her work into the physical world and for connecting with broader creative communities.

If You'll Read This,

By Audrey Im and Miceala Morano

An epistolary story between college student Quinn and recent college graduate Nova, in different cities and different lives. When Quinn sends a letter to an old connection Nova, and when Nova surprisingly responds, the two reconnect over who they are and who they’ve become since seeing each other last. Though it’s not obvious that who they’re writing to is who they once knew, it’s clear they still have lots of their hearts to spill, and perhaps some love to imbue.

Miceala Morano

Miceala Morano is a writer, student journalist, and community organizer currently in her second year at the University of Arkansas. Her writing can be found in Up The Staircase Quarterly, Berkeley Fiction Review, Gone Lawn, and (most importantly) her grandmother's purse. 'If You'll Read This,' is her first collaborative project.

Audrey Im

Audrey Im (she/her) is a senior at UCLA studying political science, professional writing, and film. Her personal writing tends to navigate love, self-doubt, and things she wants to let go of. In her free time, she likes trying out new recipes, reading webtoons, and looking for new music.
